Transportation Management

A transportation management system (TMS) bridges the gap between an order management system and a facility operations management system. A good TMS allows for route and load optimization. It easily handles shipment changes and allows for all concerned parties to get an overall picture of what is going on at any given moment.


With the instant communication available via TMS, carriers and shippers can plan and manage schedules and routes to use resources effectively. Changes are able to be communicated quickly to enable time to make adjustments without delaying loads.


Our staff is instructed to get both incoming and outgoing loads for any damage that may have occurred during shipment. Anomalies are quickly reported to customer service for communication back to the customer.

Staff also check inventory for expiration date issues and again notifications are made so that steps can be taken to minimize or avoid losses.

Flexible Shipping Programs

Direct Access, Inc. can accommodate drop shipments and pre-loading. Drop shipping allows our customers to take advantage of discounts on inventory items and buy those items in bulk without immediate facility storage concerns. These loads can be unloaded at a later time and customers are not penalized for drop shipping loads at our facilities.

Pre-loading gives our customers peace of mind knowing their orders are already loaded and ready to go. It minimizes shipping delays and our shipping staff can be more effectively utilized when we allow pre-loading at our facilities.

Freight Brokerage

In an attempt to provide comprehensive service to our clients, Direct Access, Inc. offers Freight Brokerage services in addition to our logistics and mail services. To learn more about the brokerage services, please contact customer service for additional information.

Direct Access, Inc. has an extensive network of carriers at our disposal. We choose the ideal shipper for each customer’s needs while keeping costs to a minimum. Whatever you are paying for shipping now is too much. We are confident we can provide you with lower rates than you are currently paying for those services.
